Will Steger in Ithaca

September 27 @ 7:00 pm

Several organizations are bringing a unique speaker to Ithaca on September 27. He is Will Steger, an explorer and educator who has been to the North Pole, crossed Greenland and traversed Antarctica by dogsled and kayak (www.willsteger.com). Having photographed the changes, he has a dramatic story to tell in his presentation “Eyewitness to Polar Thawing and How It Affects Us.” It will be given at

First Unitarian Society (Buffalo and Aurora) on

Wednesday, September 27 at 7 pm.

Steger has spoken around the country and testified in Congress. He founded an educational nonprofit “Climate Generation” in Minneapolis (www.climategen.org) and is building an off-grid wilderness center in Ely, Minnesota. In 2007 National Geographic Adventure gave him a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work on climate change. Come and bring a friend!
